Chairs are normally associated with central cultural-social themes, such as hospitality, home, and communicative coexistence. SPOOKY, an object that looks like a chair but is not just for sitting on, casts these concepts in a new light, asking how we relate to them. Therefore Sedelmeier does not rebuild existing chairs; rather, he creates objects from raw materials that we associate with chairs according to their approximate form, but which are never just chairs.
