A Viennese carat scale box, 1837
I. Hoffmann in Vienna, hand scales made of white metal and blued steel, two white metal trays calibrated with the Austrian double eagle and dated (1)837, 4 round weights made of white metal, the biggest one signed 64 K “I: HOFFMANN IN WIEN”, 32, 16, 8 K. In box covered with brown leather embossed with gold and lined with silk and blue velvet. Size c. 13.8 x 11.5 x 2.2 cm.
