centrepiece made of 800 silver; round, stepped foot with three slender fluted columns supporting the centrepiece bowl; side of the centrepiece bowl with narrow openwork supports, palmette decor and floral festoons, the underside with acorn-shaped decorative elements; interior originally gilt, heavily scuffed; signs of age and use; the centrepiece marked at the bottom: mis-struck sign, Viennese Diana’s head mark for 800 silver, by May 1922, RS in serrated oval (master’s mark of Rudolf Steiner), HD in an oval, distributor’s mark Schwarz & Steiner, weight of the silver centrepiece: 854.2 g.; original clear glass liner with opening rim, animated, bevelled decorative strip and bevelled star cut base; height incl. glass bowl: 25.7 cm, diameter glass bowl: 26.2 cm.
