Depiction of the well-known legend of Count Rudolf of Habsburg with the priest. The painting was executed by the famous German history painter Friedrich Wilhelm Müller for the Fideikommissgalerie of the House of Brunswick. Subsequently, it came into the possession of the House of Hanover. Provenance: Royal House of Hanover, sale at Marienburg Castle, 5 - 15 October 2005, lot no. 1875. Old inventory label on the reverse.
