“... Authentic art can be defined by three categories: its inherent form and colour quality, an expressive desire for drawing, and a blossoming of imagination. What distinguishes the insane from, say, the abstract artists is that the latter quality dominates in their work. The previous imbalance, where the first quality was favoured over the other two, was the reason for its misunderstanding until now. However, in contemporary post-formal art, this standard has shifted. One can hope for a fairer evaluation, particularly in regard to some of its masters."
