Jean Schlumberger made his first creative designs in the 1930s for Elsa Schiaparelli in the field of accessories and costume jewellery. In 1946, he opened a jewellery boutique in New York. From the mid-1950s onwards, he created extraordinary jewellery for Tiffany & Co, where he also ran his own workshop until his retirement in the 1970s. His extraordinary designs are closely linked to nature and imaginatively designed. Flowers, birds and sea creatures in particular are among his favourite motifs, which he creates individually and often with a humorous touch.
