Unique cabinet 'Children's Fairy Tales', 2024/2025, for Barrel & Spindel,
France, four-legged wooden frame construction, two-door front with four perforated drawers, electrified. Dimensions height approx. 200 cm, width approx. 150 cm, depth approx. 50 cm. Slight signs of age and wear, scratches and rubbing. (MHA)
Unique The perforation radiates from the inside of the closet with varying intensity depending on the viewing angle and the title of the work 'Children's Fairy Tales' can be read on the doors. The Barrel & Spindel brand has focused on the interplay of different materials and the re-contextualization of existing furniture, furnishings and artefacts. The resulting additional possibilities for interpretation and use go hand in hand with the respective designer's philosophy. The artist behind this object is also of the opinion that the newly created work of art should be separated from the name of its creator. In this way, other people can better experience the nuances of feelings, emotions and meanings that a work of art can express. See: Barrel Spindle catalog, Traces of existence 2024-2025, p. 42 ff.
