Martin Janecký graduated in 1998, studying glassmaking at the secondary school in Nový Bor. After his studies he collaborated with various glassmaking artists abroad (for example W. Morris), where he focused on techniques of blowing and shaping hot glass. He currently works on his art in a studio in Alaska. Martin Janecký works with the specific technique of “inside sculpting,” which is modeling blown sculptures inside the bubble, with tools to create the desired shape within. This is how he creates the difficult glass sculptures of clown, magicians, animals and human busts. These works are pure glass sculpture.
The bust on offer, Yan, is a gallery example of his recent work, in which he focuses on capturing people’s moods and character.
