Maxim Velcovsky completed his studies at the VŠUP in Prague in 2002 and becoming co-founder of the Qubus design studio. In 2007 he won Designer of the Year award. In 2011 became Art Director of Lasvit, also heading the Ceramics and Porcelain Atelier of the VŠUP in Prague.
Inspired by natural minerals, Maxim Velčovský set out to create his own, in collaboration with master glassmakers. This one-of-a-kind prototype is hand- blown uranium glass, with diamond-cut tips – an artistic interpretation of the legendary fictional kryptonite that influences Superman’s abilities.
