- Alan and Hanz Scholz initially experimented with tandem
- their friend Richard Gabriel encouraged them to build transportable touring bicycles
- the result was the diamond framed 'World Tourist' and its successor, this 'New World Tourist'
- when completely folded the entire bicycle fits into a suitcase
- can be easily shipped on trains and aeroplanes
- when riding the bike, the provided suitcase doubles as a trailer filled with luggage
- completed with Sachs/SRAM- 3 x 8 components
