Unikat aus der seit 2007 entwickelten Serie von "Land Carpets" mit unterschiedlichen geographischen Motiven. Dieser Teppich basiert auf einer Luftansicht der chinesischen Provinz Yunnan.
It represents one of the most complex and impressing forms of human shaped landscape, the rice paddies of Asia. The rug is based on an aerial image of the stepped down terraces in the hills of Yunnan that form a network of irrigated fields. Based on a simple principle the terraces follow the height lines of the mountains and valleys thus creating an impressive and visually striking look. The rug is made of a series of connected and fluid earthen pathways that rise slightly above the rice crops in different stages of growth and contrast with the colors of the crop that vary from blue and red to dark and lush greens.
