Sottsass designed five sets of jewelry for Sawaya & Moroni, among the last of his long career, that represented the "summation" and legacy of his vision of design in the form of ornament. "Foglina", among of the five projects, is one of the two ("Foglina" and "Chissà") which were due to be put into production in sterling silver: two collections of brooches and pendants of sculptural inspiration that adorn the body with elegance and personality. Impossible not to notice them, for the force of the sign, which in interaction with the body becomes harmony and sensuality, allusion and play. "Foglina" has soft and delicate lines that stand out against the lapel of a jacket or on the décolletage of a dress with the sinuosity of their undulating profile. The finish of the unique piece made in polished yellow gold make it as perfect for an evening gown as for daily use. The simplicity of the natural forms, the soft curls and the whorls remind us of Sottsass's love of nature and the clean and concise forms.
