The outstanding sales success of Dorotheum's collection auctions in recent years is demonstrated, among others, by the auction of the important art collection of the renowned Viennese surgeon Heinrich Lill, the auctions of the estates of Prince Palffy and Prince Kinsky, and the auction of selected works from the Rudolf Leopold Collection. The collections and bequests of the art historian Alain Gruber, the piano virtuoso Jörg Demus, the economist Heinz Ploner, the collector couple Schedlmayer and the opera singer Edita Gruberova are also especially memorable.

Among other things, the auctions of the Wiesenthal Collection of superb classic vehicles, a collection of scooters and scooter rarities, Michael Embacher's extensive bicycle collection and costume treasures from the Vienna State Opera also attracted great attention. In addition, Dorotheum made a name for itself with auctions of jewellery and watch collections.
