Jewels and jewellery
Jewellery and jewels have always been part of Dorotheum’s auction programme. They continue to exert great fascination, being both a fashion accessory and a status symbol. Jewels are a symbol of beauty, power and influence. Celebrities past and present, stars from the world of film and fashion are known for their passion for glittering treasures. Whether gold jewellery, diamonds, pearls, corals or gemstones - the right piece of jewellery will make its wearer shine. Auctions at Dorotheum offer selected pieces of jewellery and jewels from the Biedermeier, Historicism and Art Deco, through to Modernism and today. Jewels from haute joaillerie manufacturers such as Cartier, Bulgari, Buccellati, Van Cleef & Arpels or Tiffany are particularly sought after at auctions. Untreated sapphires, rubies or other gemstones cause auction prices to soar, as do jewels from prominent or aristocratic ownership. Twice a year, in spring and autumn, major jewellery sales are held for an international audience. Several times a week, Dorotheum holds online auctions with a focus on diamonds or gemstones, among other things. The experts at Dorotheum are specialists in their field and examine every piece of jewellery. Besides an international training as gemologists, they have years of experience and are sworn appraisers. They will definitely value your jewels.
