Welcome to Palais Dorotheum!

Dorotheum’s headquarters are located in Dorotheum Palace or Palais Dorotheum, in the centre of Austria’s culture- and art-minded capital Vienna, right in the heart of Europe. When the building was renovated in 1901, Emperor Franz Joseph performed the official inauguration ceremony. Today, the magnificent palace is a prominent meeting place for art collectors from all over the world and a major platform for the Austrian art market.

The highlights of the auction year are the four big auction weeks, which feature large-scale auctions of everything from contemporary and modern art to 19th century and old master paintings.

Special auctions in more than 40 categories encompass the entire spectrum of painting and antiques, from Jugendstil, design, silver, porcellan, glass, furniture and sculpture to Asian Art, graphic art, photography, tribal art, rugs and folk art. Traditional and new collectors' segments such as autographs, stamps, books, coins, historical scientific instruments, posters and comics round off the selection.

Dorotheum publishes more than 100 catalogues per year in conjunction with its auctions.

Daily Auctions!
Palais Dorotheum holds auctions nearly every weekday. The daily, uncatalogued auctions offer a broad selection of beautiful items, from Biedermeier chairs to Art Nouveau bracelets and designer glass.
