We are grateful to Helmut Börsch-Supan, who confirmed the present painting as a work by Georges Desmarées.
A written certificate is available. Maria Anna of Bavaria was the wife of Elector Maximilian III Joseph, the last representative of the old Bavarian line. The Electress lived as his childless widow in Fürstenried Castle near Munich.
