The work is accompanied by a letter with dedication of the artist: The painting titled “Verbunkas”, I dedicate to Szabo, the best bartender in Budapest, as a sign of my appreciation and thanks. 20 January 1941, Gyula Batthyány. This work was given to the uncle of the present owner, who was a dentist, by Szabo, the bartender, for his medical service. Later the work was passed on to the present owner as a wedding gift.
