From the artist’s diaries: 25 January 1928... Exhibition from 25 February until 10 March at Mlle. Weill. 25 paintings. The impact (due to the fact that everything is a picture) was good. Sales were better than I expected. No press. Artistically it was a success, as far as one can believe people, who were also jealous.- Eisenschitz helped me a lot. From 7 April until 18 May ‘29 trip to Spain. Toulon, Perpignan, via Cette, Collioure, Gerona, Barcelona, Calatayut, Zaragossa, Madrid, Toledo. Stayed in Toledo for
14 days-Prado, the most beautiful museum, one can really look at the paintings and remain alive. Everything Spanish developed from the foundation of Italian painting. Grecco! (sic)
