Ayu-Dag (‘Bear Mountain’) is a mountain on the southern coast of Crimea, one of the symbols of the peninsula. After it was discovered by painters during the early 19th century, Mount Ayu-Dag became a popular motif in the works of I. Aivazovsky, his pupils and other artists from Odessa.
