Biedermeier style, known as the Metternich desk, comprising a carcase from the 19th century, with walnut veneer, a polished finish, caryatids at the angles with India ink decoration, a writing surface with cross-banded veneer, a maple-veneered fitted interior, 1 large and 10 small interior drawers with lozenge decoration, an arrangement of niches edged in columns, with the base in a chess-board pattern, and 1 cornice drawer. 149 x 84 x 42.5 cm.
