Splendid rustic cabinet,
Known as a “Polsterkasten”, Salzburg/ Pongau, originally late 18th century and presumably when handed on within the family in the mid 19th century, the cabinet was then richly painted with flowers according to the taste of the time. A spruce cabinet with a richly moulded loose cornice, canted angles with pilasters, two doors with carved padded mouldings, original lock with a chased lock plate, key, and three interior drawers. 218 x 171 x 72 cm. Inscribed and dated on the frieze "Johann Kerschbaumer, 1851". In cared-for condition with minor ageing and wear. (MIN/PZ)
