Dainty French salon or music cabinet,
Transition period, circa 1760/70. Made in tulipwood and rosewood veneer over oak, with floral marquetry in partly dyed and burnt fine woods, also with a moulded marble top (Breche d'alep) and bronze applications. The cabinet has two doors with a horizontal compartment, two tambour closures with a vertical division for sheet music and an owner’s label. 113 x 64 x 39 cm. In cared-for condition with ageing and evidence of restoration. (PZ)
