A snuff bottle
China, Qing dynasty, probably 18th century
Incised four-character mark Qianlong. Mother-of-pearl with finely carved amber inlays in low relief; to one face, the character shou = long life, with two dragons, on the other face, a lotus flower with two buds. To the sides, four eyelets for a chain, one damaged. Mother-of-pearl stopper. Hairline cracks to mother-of-pearl body. Height: 8.3 cm. (BA)
