East Caucasus, c. 325 x 125 cm, end of the 19th century, rare gallery format with gul-like shields and octagons trimmed with a white border, good pile with oxidised brown, lower end with kilim end, in the upper section knotted warp threads with damaged areas, the carpet was manufactured in two steps, as a result of which a change in the red pile wool is discernible at the upper end (so-called ‘abrash’), the carpet is slightly warped and could be stretched.
