East Caucasus, c. 425 x 127 cm, end of the 19th century, for Caucasian carpets a very rare runner in large broad and long format with very fine knotting, three vertical rows with tree of life abstractions, stylised bird pairs and four-legged figures on abrashed, dark blue background, a very similar, narrower piece with only one pattern row was published in the Battenberg Catalogue, brown corroded, original ends and edges, in good pile condition for its age.
