The present tribal carpet from the Fars province is one of a few preserved specimens from the 19th century; the popularity of coarse historical carpets such as the present one is due to the publications of Parviz Tanavoli (Tehran); on a blue background a medallion with massive, hooked extensions, excellent condition with full pile without visible repair, side edges and plaited warp threads original preserved on both sides.
