Pinwheel Kazak,
Southwest Caucasus, c. 250 x 177 cm, end of the 19th century, this rare group is also referred to as ‘swastika Kazak’, the spirals of the swastika represent stylised dragon figures or animal whirl motifs that were already in use among the Sumerian and Scythian peoples; the present Kazak comes from a German private collection and is in mint condition with insignificant minor repairs.
