Imposing Japanese salon cabinet, - Works of Art (Furniture, Sculptures, Glass, Porcelain)

Known as a “Shodana”, circa 1900. Made in various fine woods, partly black painted and carved with relief, also decorated with gold painting of outstanding quality, relief-carved ivory and mother-of-pearl applications, and lines of calligraphy. The cabinet is divisible, with five drawers, six doors and four sliding doors. Approx. 240 x 153 x 40 cm. Some ageing, with small parts replaced or missing. (PZ)
