Mixed lot (3 items): Burkina Faso, Mali: A bangle made of stone, one made of brass and a container made of leather. - Tribal Art

1: An old bangle made of black stone with white ‘veins’, as worn by the Mossi in Burkina Faso. DM: 11 cm (exterior), 7 cm (interior), 2 cm thick.
2: An old bangle of the Gurunsi in Burkina Faso. Made of yellow cast-alloy (brass), executed with ‘waste mould’ casting. In typical, conical form, decorated with knops and plaited pattern. The Frafra also wear this type of bracelet. H: 2.5 cm to 7 cm. DM: 7 cm.
3: A round container for fat, with a conical, pointed lid, from the Tuareg in Mali. Made of lightweight, light-coloured and thin leather (animal skin) and embossed with charming, all-round patterns of geometrical lines. H: 15 cm, DM: 11 cm.
All three objects: first half of the 20th century, or some earlier (bangles). (ME)
