From the estate of the Viennese diseuse, Emmy Emmanoff (b. 1900 Vienna) and heirs –  a day dress, - Clocks, Metalwork, Faience, Folk Art, Sculptures +Antique Scientific Instruments and Globes

Ella Bei Wien IV, Rechte Wienzeile 31, Vienna, circa 1900, 2-part, consisting of: waisted jacket and skirt with train, cream-coloured silk satin, hooks and eyes to rear of upper part, 5 vertical darts to front with inset strips, inner waistband in linen, linen-lined, lace trim to sleeves, drawstring running through neckline for pulling closed, skirt cut in several panels with elongated train to rear, linen-lined, waist size 70 cm, length of skirt to front approx. 103 cm, rear length approx. 175 cm, partly pleated, darts, linen-lined, all parts stamped with company’s mark, some numbered, upper part was altered at time of manufacture and let out in part, some stains, condition commensurate with age, including: 1 box of loose beads and gilt embroidered trim, which was separated from the dress prior to chemical cleaning, with sketch of original position of beads. The dress probably originates from a costume hire company and was adapted for the purposes of theatrical use.

The Viennese diseuse, Emmy Emanoff performed in Vienna and Paris, and was accompanied on the piano by her husband, Heinrich Hahn.
