Salon chest of drawers - Works of Art (Furniture, Sculpture)

France circa 1770/80. Made in oak with rosewood veneer, decorated in cube pattern marquetry in various partly dyed fine woods, with two “sans traverse” drawers, these with a salient central section, gilt bronze mounts and a shaped marble top, repaired at the back. The chest of drawers is stamped on the left front support P. H. MEVVESEN (Pierre Harry Mewesen maitre, from 1766)) and JME (Jures Menuisiers Ebenistes). 89 x 113 x 56.5 cm. Restored condition, with small parts replaced. (MIN)
