Certificate: Dr. Wanda Aschenbrenner, author of the catalogue raisonné on Paul Troger, 1965. Dr. Aschenbrenner compares our painting with Troger’s St. Jacob in the Parsonage of Waidhofen an der Thaya, his Saint Francis in Ecstasy in a private collection, Padua, and his Tobias and Anne in the Österreichische Galerie, Vienna. She assigns the painting to Troger’s early period and dates it to 1729–32.
