Signed "F. VILLAIN", Ferdinand Le Villain(1837-1905), end of the 19th century. A partly patinated cast with a central depiction of Menalcas and Mopsus (goat-herds playing the flute and singing, from a poem by Virgil). The bowl has two handles in the form of male masks. Height 16 cm, diameter 47 cm. In cared-for original condition with minor rubbing. (MIN)
