1965 MG B Mk. 1

1965 MG B Mk. 1 - Classic Cars

Refurbished original in an ideal configuration!

The MG B was presented in September 1962, initially as a convertible only, but later as a coupé as well. Its attractive body was now self-supporting and provided significantly more space for modern features. The new engine offered 1,800 cc with a strongly enhanced torque in addition to more power. What remained was its reliability. 387,259 convertibles were built in 1980, which is a clear testimony to its convincing concept and structure.

As an Mk 1., this MG embodies the classic “B” version. The metal-panelled dashboard and spoked steering wheel were replaced in later years. The interior was overloaded with plastic and the seats became more lavishly upholstered. More recently, the vehicle even needed to be fitted with rubber bumpers and raised in order to obtain registration! This convertible was exported from Germany to Austria in 2003. It represents the Mk. 1 in its ideal form with its painted, central lock spoked wheels. Pleasingly, it was given a thorough overhaul some time ago. Besides the bodywork and the paint, the interior and engineering were also provided with a new lease of life. This MG B is an attractive British automobile that has been used and looked after. The fun factor inherent to this roadster was experienced first-hand by the legendary skiers Hans Enn and Leonhard Stock as entrants in the Mühlviertel Classic!
