China, c. 90 x 60 cm, mid-18th century, very finely woven silk fabric with pattern details made of gold on cotton core, the golden celestial dragon holds the flaming sun in its left five-clawed paw, finely drawn scattered designs with clouds, bats, lotus and peony blossoms as well as Taoist and Buddhist symbols of good fortune, whilst the lower image features classic sea waves and mountain motifs; framed and backed with silk fabric, in wooden frame.
