Northeast Persia (Iran), c. 152 (166) x 91 cm, late 19th century, prayer rug with five alternating, ascending tree motifs on camel-coloured ground, heavily oxidised brown borders accompanied by different narrow borders containing rows of ‘S’ symbols; the original endweaves and large selvedges have survived on both sides, end damage.
