Tekke Chuval,
West Turkestan, c. 78 x 130 cm, about 1870, 4 x 5 gul chuval executed in coarse knotting with a design of reciprocal arrows in the gul core of the primary motifs, the atanak main border is accompanied by two “Sary Itchyan” (running dog) borders, especially remarkable is the beautiful ashik/kotchanak tree elem; unusually deep, thick pile wool, original side edges, remains of the endweaves have survived on both sides, the upper corners slightly damaged.
