Mikhail Vasiljevich Kupriyanov *
(Tetyushi on the River Volga 1903–1991 Moscow)
Moscow, signed in Cyrillic script, dated 1955 (?), on the reverse export licence of the USSR Ministry of Culture, oil on canvas laid down on board, 50 x 60 cm, framed, (Rei)
Provenance:
Private Collection Germany.
We are grateful to Dr. Olga Sugrobova-Roth for her scientific assistance.
We are grateful to Empire Architects and Interior Designers, Moscow, for the scientific assistance.
The water-supplying tower (Sviblova Tower) of the Moscow Kremlin, the construction activity in the foreground and the church in the distance, which no longer exists today, suggest that this is probably a view of Moscow painted from the side of Znamenka Street.
