Napoleon III period. A high quality piece produced by ALPH. GIROUX & Cie PARIS at the end of the 19th century. A hardwood casket richly decorated with boulle marquetry in floral and geometric designs using tortoiseshell and brass, with a hinged lid, pull-out sides, a top which can be pulled up, with a brass handle, with 4 bottles and 15 liqueur glasses – these decorated with gold. The interior is veneered in rosewood. Ca. 29 x 37 x 25 cm. 1 veneer loss on the back, 1 glass missing, otherwise in cared-for condition. (DOC)
