glass, colourless, conical cup with lined edge of lip, front features the cut and engraved coat of arms with helmet crest, emblazoned: 'in rot und zwei silberne Balken, auf dem goldgekröntem Helm mit rot-silberner Decke zwei rote Büffelhörner mit zwei silbernen Spangen' reverse side features the dedication: 'Ein Herz das sich nicht treu erweist ist werth, das es der Hund be...', base of body with pointed arch cuts and concave disks, shaft with spherical cuts, base with folded edge and cut pontil markk, height 20.2 cm, Saxony, around 1750 (Ru)

Arnim is the name of an old noble family from Mark Brandenburg, first mentioned in documented form as Alardus de Arnim in 1204. Ancestors included among others in the last generations Hans Henning von Arnim, Royal Saxon chamberlain and his wife Luise, Freiin von Berg. Her son Erik Hans Karl von Arnim, b. 1.8.1873 at castle Kriebstein in Saxony, died in May 1945 in captivity on the island of Rügen, was a Saxon manor owner, master of castle Kriebstein and Royal Saxon chamberlain at the Dresden court.
