Provenance:
Private collection, Belgium

The present painting relates to a composition by Rubens dated to circa 1617 in the National Gallery, London. Lucas van Uden (Antwerp 1595–1672), a pupil of Rubens, is known to have made copies of some of the master’s landscape paintings and he could be responsible for the present work.
