modified Louis XV style of the late 19th century, modelled on so-called ‘Boulle’ furniture, hardwood frame on gently curved legs, ebonised and lavishly marquetried with tortoiseshell and sheet brass, the top in so-called ‘bureau Mazarin’ style, with 3 drawers, and 3 sham drawers on the back, the corners with bronze faun heads, the sides with Bacchus heads, c. 78 x 114 x 68 cm, richly ornamented with bronze mounts and bronze hoof feet, with glass plate, in restored condition.
