Tüllü,
Central Anatolia (Turkey), c. 180 x 154 cm, mid-20th century, the word tüllü means ‘long hair’, these carpets were used by Kurdish shepherds as sleeping pads, the present specimen featuring a beautiful chequered field pattern, with shaggy, long pile wool with cotton weft threads throughout.
