so-called plinth chest (‘Sockeltruhe’), Salzburg/Tyrol, end of the 17th century, pinewood frame formerly partly painted in red (‘oxblood’), the front with sun wheels in relief carved decoration, separated by pilasters of conical form with fish scale motif, floral carved applications, hinged cover, lateral iron handles, c. 93 x 163 x 70 cm, several small wood parts missing or supplemented and unprofessionally glued, wormholes in places, heavy signs of age and use.
