Superb features, overhauled engine!

Porsche enlarges the bore of the 911 engine to 84 mm with 2.2 litres of displacement in August 1969. Customers can choose between ‘T’ performance with 140 hp and ‘S’ performance with 180 hp. Naturally, though, anyone looking for kudos as a race driver just had to pick the ‘S’. And that hasn’t changed. The last evolution of the F-Model, the 2.4, was released at the end of 1971. But the final authentic ‘Elevener’ is actually the 2.2. It still came with the 901 gearbox and sports configuration, which meant the first gear was bottom left. And its engine, accompanied by primal snarling and screaming, was far thirstier for speed and quite simply more sporty.

Besides a gripping history, this 911 S thrills with its opulent features, including an electric sunroof, electric windows, tinted windows and genuine leather seats, with a sports seat for the driver. Submitted with the vehicle, the copy of the Austrian individual approval states that the car was registered by Porsche Salzburg as a showroom automobile on 28 July 1971. The Porsche was purchased by the owner’s family as early as 1976. For 40 years, the S was a source of immense pleasure for the father and then the son. In 1994, the son had the bodywork refurbished with original components, and took the S with him when he moved to Germany. The car comes with the original service booklet and many inspection receipts for the last 20 years. The original engine, including the throttle valves, was overhauled by a firm of German experts in September 2016. The exhaust system and heat exchanger were also renewed. The invoice for the work has been submitted, and it is still under warranty, of course. The 911 recently completed its major German introspection as well. So if you want a 911, then pick an S. If it’s a 911 S, it has to be the 2.2. And here it is!
