silver, of round form, raised rocailles decoration, two volute handles with leaf join, socket cover with finial, engraved coat of arms of Henry Paget, height 38.5 cm, weight 2115 g, master’s mark TP = Thomas Pitts, London hallmark 1769/70, (Lu)

Henry William Paget (1768-1854) was a famous British field marshal and politician. Paget commanded the British Cavalry at Waterloo and lost a leg shortly before the end of the battle.
