early wristwatch model, rose gold 375, lever movement, calibre 10 1/2 Hunter, Extra Prima, 15 stones, bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet overcoil spring, silver-coloured dial, Arabic numerals, small second, fitted case numbered 21725, reference 678, width c. 32 mm, 29.3 g, partly reworked. In July 1926, Rolex introduced the first waterproof and dustproof watch, the Oyster with screw crown also known as the "Channel Swimmer Rolex". The patent number 114948 is engraved on the case back. Spillmann & Cie from La Chaux-de-Fonds manufactured the 3-shell watch case. In addition to the popular cushion watch case, an octagonal shape was also produced. The movement comes from the Aegler Manufactory in Bienne.
