Vienna, c. 1910, mahogany veneered and stained, brass sabots, the table top with leather insert, the seat and armrests upholstered and covered with renewed leather, desk: height approx. 97 cm, approx. 115 x 68 cm, chair: height approx. 112 cm, width approx. 70 cm, depth approx. 56 cm, height of seat approx. 50 cm. The Austrian National Library conserves a set of photographs showing interiors by Fanny Harlfinger-Zakucka that can be assigned to her own home in 1030 Vienna, No. 8 Esteplatz. One of the pictures shows a corner in the drawing room with the present desk and chair ensemble.

Mostly working as a painter and graphic designer, Harlfinger-Zakucka also designed decorative objects and interiors. She was one of the most committed women artists of her time in feminist issues and founded the Society of Viennese Women’s Art, which disbanded after her death in 1954.
