This Eugen Onegin production from 2009 was created for Vienna and Tokyo, with a German leading team and international singers. For director Falk Richter it was therefore “logical that the production is not tied to a specific time and place.” This is also expressed in the costumes of the men's chorus. These are upscale items of clothing that show a timeless elegance on the one hand, but also an emotional detachment at the same time. People who do not feel secure in social reality: who keep up an appearance on the outside, but are inwardly searching for security. Even where the staging shows exuberant partying, the sting of loneliness can always be felt. The costume consisting of a shirt, trousers and jacket, is complemented by a tie, is made of wool. Is it in very good condition.
