Formerly Trinkl Collection, 19th century/Friedberg, Schlossmuseum Friedberg, on loan to Maximilianmuseum Augsburg from 2006, German private collection from 2020.
Lorenz Luidl (c. 1646 in Meríng - 1719 in Landsberg am Lech) was a Bavarian baroque sculptor who came from an important family of sculptors. He spent his apprenticeship with David Degler in Weilheim and founded his workshop in Landsberg, which became one of the most productive sculpture workshops in Bavaria in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. His son Johann Luidl took it over in 1717.
